How to join the Surgery
First check you live within our catchment area
To be eligible to register at the practice, you must live within the practice catchment area.
Type your postcode into the search below and press the "check my location" button. It will immediately tell you whether you're within our boundary area. If you are, then scroll below the boundary map to complete our registration form. If you have any questions about your eligibility to join this surgery please contact us.
New patient registration
By far the easiest and quickest way to register is to complete our online form.
The form will ask you to enter your NHS number. You can use this NHS website to find your NHS number.
If you prefer to fill out a paper version of the form, you can collect a registration form from our reception team.
We would encourage you to book an appointment with our practice nurse for a new patient health check within four weeks of joining the practice.
Your named GP
Your registration will be with the surgery as a whole, rather than with a particular doctor. But every patient registered at the practice has a named GP who is responsible for the patient's overall care. However you are always free to choose whichever doctor you would prefer to see.
Named GPs are allocated at the point of registration. Dr Drury is the named GP for patients whose surname begins with the letters A - G, Dr MacKeith is the named GP for patients whose surname begins with the letters H - O, and Dr Kirkaldy is the named GP for those patients whose surname begins with the letters P - Z.
It is important that you inform us if you change your name, address or telephone number. Patients with out of date contact information may find that they have been removed from our patient list, which is a process often beyond our control. So, keeping things up to date is vital.
Temporary Services
If you are ill while away from home, or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one, you can receive emergency treatment from a local GP surgery like ours for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permenant patient.
You can be regsitered as a temporary patient for up to 3 months. This will allow you to to be on our practice list and still remain a patient of your permenant GP. After three months you will have to register as a temporary patient again, or permanently register with the surgery.
To register as a temporary patient, please speak to a member of our reception team. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a surgery in the town or area where you are already registered.
