When We Are Closed
After 6:30 each evening, at weekends and on Bank Holidays, Oxfordshire provides an out of hours service.
Out of Hours can be contacted by telephone FREE on 111.
When you phone 111, a receptionist will take details of your problem and pass these details to a doctor on duty. The doctor will then phone you back to discuss your problem. They may deal with your problem by giving you advice on the telephone or arrange a consultation at the GP Emergency Centre based at East Oxford Health Centre, Manzil Way, Cowley Road, Oxford. In some instances a doctor may visit your home.
Between 6pm – 6:30pm Monday to Friday, in cases of real emergency only, calls are taken by one of our practice GPs. The appropriate number is on the surgery answering machine.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
If you have registered for online access then you can still book appointments, order repeat medication and look at test results from your computer or phone, even when we are closed. For more information about access to our services via the web please visit our online services page.
